This company was set up in 1986 to carry out ship dismantling at Alang, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India.

Alang Auto & Gen. Engg. Co. Pvt. Ltd. is a diversified business conglomerate engaged in the Metal Recycling business that includes Ship Recycling, Processing, and Trading of Scrap Metals. We have a market standing of more than 30 years in this business and our company has a strong presence in the metal recycling markets in India. In all these years, we have recycled 75+ vessels weighing more than 5,40,000+ MT and still counting.

Alang Auto is a customer-focused family-owned enterprise founded by Late Mr.Subodh Kumar who was a pioneer in this industry. His vision that we are guided by was to create something of value by recycling waste, for our customers, our employees, our stakeholders and above all, our country. His foresight has laid a strong foundation for the group as well as the value system for which ‘Alang Auto’ is identified today.

We have started our journey towards environment and safety consciousness by initially getting certified for ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2008. We continued our endeavor and got certified for ISO 30000 & HKC compliance through Class RINA. We went one step ahead and got a dual certification of HKC from ClassNK Japan in October of 2017 as per the Hong Kong convention. We obtained complete compliance to MAERSK RSRS IN 2019; IRCC from Lloyd’s register; have recycled vessels from renowned companies such as APMM MAERSK, CMA-CGM, NYK LINE, MISC and MSC; and have obtained EU-SRR certification from IR CLASS.
